Be part of our 1 Day Rwanda gorilla trek to Volcanoes National park. Rwanda is known for sheltering the second largest population of Gorillas in the world with over 10 habituated Gorilla groups in the Volcanoes National Park. Their high conservation strategy makes Rwanda a high-end Gorilla destination in the world. The journey from Kigali to Volcanoes National park is a 2½ hours drive to the Northeastern side. The 1-day Rwanda gorilla trek gives travelers with limited time a chance to see the endangered gorillas. People who visit Rwanda for meetings, conferences, and events normally do the short trek. It’s best done when someone is already in Rwanda.
Full Itinerary
After having your breakfast at the Hotel in Kigali, you will drive off very early at 4:00 am and transfer to Volcanoes national park arriving at the park offices for a briefing on the guidelines for Gorilla Trekking. You will then head into the forest with a team of ranger guides and begin the search for a habituated Gorilla family in the high hills of this small country. After several hours of tracking, you will meet the gorillas and enjoy the moment with them for one full hour. The guides will be there to answer all your questions and help you understand more about the behavior of these giant apes in their natural habitat. The Juveniles are seen playing, mothers taking care of their babies while the dominant silverback is always on guard for the family. The Gorillas have been habituated and this means they are used to the presence of humans and won’t attack you if you follow the guidance given at the briefing point. After this delightful moment before the Gorillas, you will be led back to the starting point to meet your guide. Drive to the airport for your flight.
