Detailed Itinerary
Very early at 9:30 am, the driver guide from Kabaffulo Safaris will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali or the airport for a traveler to Bwindi’s impenetrable Forest National park. The drive takes roughly 5 hours via Cyanika border in Kisoro district. You will be at he respective park headquarters in Bwindi Forest by 7:00 am. Join other travelers for pre gorilla trekking briefing where you are introduced to the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. You will be allocated a gorilla group to trek alongside other even travelers. NOTE: Each gorilla family is visited by a group of eight travelers. At 8:00 am, start off the actual trek into the jungle searching for the endangered mountain gorillas. Trekking time ranges between 30 minutes to over 7 hours. This will depend on the hiking speed of travelers in your group or the location of the gorilla family you are searching for. However, you are 99% guaranteed of seeing the gorillas at the end of the trek. You may encounter other wild animals such as Forest Elephants. Colobus monkeys and different birds during your gorilla search. Upon meeting the gorillas, spend an hour in their company.
