Dian Fossey is an American primatologist who dedicated her life to the conservation of Gorillas and ended up killed by poachers. You will have visit to her grave in the park and learn more about her life.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will be picked on arrival at the airport in Kigali and be briefed about the trip and immediately embark on the journey transferring to Volcanoes National Park located in the Northern parts of Rwanda. Enjoy the scenic views of the rolling hills as you drive through the North of Rwanda. You will arrive in the evening hours and check in at the lodge within the park where you will have your dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast at the lodge this morning, you will drive off to the park offices where you will be briefed with other tourists as a group on the guidelines for Gorilla Trekking. The exercise begins as early as 7am and then be led into the forest to search for habituated Gorillas. After several hours of hiking and trekking, you will meet the Gorilla group and be allowed to spend a full hour with them from the time of the encounter. You will be allowed to film, take memorable pictures and have all your questions answered by the guides. Return to the starting point and meet your guide to return you to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Dian Fossey Hike

You will have your breakfast at the lodge and then be led out to the starting point to explore the great history of the famous American primatologist who dedicated her life to the conservation of mountain Gorillas. You will hike through the forest until you arrive at the graveyard at Karisoke research center. The hike rewards you with a view of some of the most interesting wildlife species including Gorillas on a good day. Return to the starting point where you will meet your guide and drive off to the lodge where you will relax, have dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Departure

Check out of the lodge after breakfast and return to Kigali to catch your flight.
