Details
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will be picked up from your Hotel/Airport early in the morning and have a short city tour in Kigali at the Genocide memorial and the local markets. You will then head northwards towards Volcanoes National Park through the beautiful scenery of the rolling hills in the countryside before arriving at the park in the evening hours. Check-in at the lodge within the park, relax, have dinner and spend your night there.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking
After breakfast, you will be picked up by our guide and head to the meeting point for a morning briefing on the guidelines for Gorilla trekking. You will then be divided in groups of 8 and be led into the jungle in search of the habituated Gorilla group allocated to you that you will meet after several hours of trekking. You will be allowed to spend 0ne full hour with them as you share a moment taking pictures and videos for memories. The team of guides will then return you to the starting point to meet your guide transferring to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking
Breakfast will be served very early to allow you to catch up with the briefing at 7 am in the park done by the ranger guides. The Golden Monkey trekking experience is not as tiresome as Gorilla tracking but similar in many ways. After several hours/minutes of hiking through the forest, you will meet the Golden monkeys seated in the high trees feeding or resting. These unique monkeys are named after their golden fur as you will see during your trip. After this amazing experience, you will return to meet your guide and drive to Kigali airport for departure.
